While blood is rarely if ever shown from any Smurf characters in mainstream Smurfs media, Smurf blood in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series is usually reddish-purple while Psyche blood is dark red.
As with human females, the Smurfettes in this series also go through a period of menstruation starting in their 100s (for naturally-born females), resulting in blood being secreted. This continues up until they reach the period of menopause, which happens when a naturally-born female Smurf is in her 500s.
The drink known as blood wine, despite its name, has no actual blood in it.
Ares' Chalice Of Conquest is a magic item that contains the blood of every man that was slain, which he claims will give its drinker immortality and godhood, but in reality will transform the drinker into a demon.
The blood berry plant has a juice that has the taste and thick consistency of blood, which Tapper as a Christian refuses to eat or drink.
In "Where The Wind Carries You", when Tapper and five other Smurfs are trapped in the open sea and surrounded by sharks, Tapper claimed the blood of Jesus Christ over himself and his friends to protect them from the sharks, and a red ring of blood surrounded Tapper and his friends, causing the sharks to swim away, leaving them unharmed.

Within The Smurfs: Light and Dark series, blood is a subject mostly mentioned and seldom seen; few characters have any serious cuts or injuries causing blood to leave their bodies. The only reference so far to the subject of blood has been in The Reluctant Dark Knight where Falla informs King Gerard that one of the princesses on his grand ball invitation list "is not yet a woman," and nothing more is said on the matter. In the Smurf Me Up story, "The Red Mist," Lord Balthazar uses his own blood in a ritual to bring the remains of Eddy Cougar back to life on Skull Mountain.
Bioau Series[]
In the Bioau story series, Butcher Smurf is often covered in blood from the fish he butchers. This blood is red. Smurf blood, meanwhile, is a bright purple color.
