Turnera diffusa, known as damiana, is a shrub native to southern Texas in the United States, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. It belongs to the family Passifloraceae.

In the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, damiana grows in certain parts of the Smurf Forest and is used by Papa Smurf in the creation of various formulas, and by the other Smurfs as a smoking herb for their cigarettes and pipes. One notable thing the Smurfs found about damiana is its similarity to the taste of smoking smurfnip without the side effects other than putting them in a mild euphoric state. Lazy in the story "Where The Wind Carries You" confesses to being a smoker of damiana. Tapper will occasionally brew this as a relaxing tea to his customers.
