"I smurfed the book when it comes to pranks."
Jethro "Pranky" Smurf is a Smurf character who is solely part of Vic George's series of EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf fanfiction stories. According to the story series, he is the father of Jokey, who like his son enjoyed playing practical jokes on his fellow Smurfs, and Crazy, who basically communicates through making all sorts of sound effects and pantomime. About 50 years later, he along with his wife succumbed to the same unknown disease that claimed the lives of all their fellow Smurfs except for Papa Smurf. Jokey was then left in the care of Papa Smurf along with 98 other young Smurfs his age.
Years later, in the story "Days Of Auld Lang Smurf", Pranky supposedly came back from the dead to meet his grown-up son, playing a practical joke on Empath's friend Polaris Psyche by placing a whoopie cushion on the chair he would sit on. However, Smurfette, Polaris Psyche, and the Smurflings discover and reveal the truth that the "resurrected" Pranky was just an illusion created by the Auld Lang Syne Spell that the evil witch Chlorhydris had cast upon the Smurfs.
