Russell "Printer" Smurf is a Smurf character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.

He is generally very laid-back and friendly. However, as his work tends to be very exhausting, he eats a lot. His favorite food is nuts, which he uses the hand-cranked printing machine inside his own shop to crack the shells. He also likes to drink a lot of coffee.

Brainy constantly uses Printer to do printing jobs for his book publications, in which he has to deal with Brainy's persistent checking up on the status of the print jobs. Ultimately Printer has to threaten Brainy to leave his shop by cracking a nut with his printing machine. He also prints copies of the Holy Bible which his friend Tapper gives out to the Smurfs that he knows are interested in reading God's Word.

He is the village printer who operates the printing press for the newspaper that Reporter and Editor Smurf work for. He also does specialized printing jobs such as invitations and greeting cards in his own print shop using an old hand-cranked printing machine.

Clothing And Appearance

Printer wears a printer's visor and apron with a couple of wristbands. Usually his clothes get all stained from the ink he uses in his printing jobs.

Possible Voice Actor

He would most likely be voiced by Gary Basaraba, the voice actor for Hefty Smurf in the 2011 Smurfs movie.

  • Printer's appearance is based on that of Greedy Smurf from the comic book story "The Reporter Smurf" when he was operating the village newspaper's printing press. He also resembles the cartoon show version of Reporter Smurf.
