"Of all the wizards I could have learned from, I had to be stuck with this loser."
- - His comment toward Gargamel
Scruple is a character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, appearing mostly in the novel.
Role[]
He is Gargamel's unwanted apprentice who was dumped on him by the sorcerer's guild, whose purpose seems to be giving his master a hard time about his inability to catch Smurfs. During the events of the EMPATH novel, he was forced out of the Smurf forest along with Gargamel and Azrael.
Personality[]
Scruple tends to be very snarky and disdainful of his master's varied attempts to catch the Smurfs, as he himself sees no specific use for them. Like Jokey, he can be very mischievous as he often likes to pull pranks on Gargamel for his own personal amusement. Nonetheless, seeing that Gargamel is the only wizard that he can learn anything about sorcery from, Scruple is somewhat loyal and was even responsible for getting his master out of hell after his battle with his cousin Sagratamabarb, where he vowed to Beelzebub that he would belong to him forever if he would use his power to get rid of his cousin.
Clothing And Appearance[]
Scruple wears a blue-grey tunic with a red scarf, a dark blue cape, a dark blue Phrygian cap, blue-grey leggings, and dark blue shoes. He has orange hair which he tries to keep groomed under his cap, although at times, such as during lightning strikes, it can get rather wild.
Voice Actor[]
His desired voice actor would be Greg Cipes, who was the voice of Beast Boy in the animated Teen Titans show of the 2000s.
