Dumont "Sculptor" Smurf is a Smurf character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.

History[]

Sculptor is born the son of Picasso and Ninette Smurf, and is the brother of Painter and Poet. At around 50 years of age, Sculptor lost both his parents to an unknown disease and was raised mostly by Papa Smurf.

Personality[]

He is very meticulous about his work and never considers a project finished until it meets his exact standards. He is one of Empath's teachers in the various art skills he has acquired over the years. Like his brother Painter, Sculptor speaks with a French accent, though he doesn't know how to speak in Schtroumpf. He enjoys a good bottle of wine and the best hand-rolled cigarette to celebrate the completion of a work.

Role[]

He is the village sculptor who mostly does his work in wood, stone, and clay. He can also do ice and chocolate sculptures, though the one time he created a chocolate sculpture of Hefty Smurf proudly raising up a barbell that sat on top of his birthday cake, the sun melted the sculpture so that at its presentation the arms of Hefty's figure were lowered and it appeared as if the figure was losing his strength holding up the barbells. While the other Smurfs found that to be funny, Hefty was not amused and ended up chasing after Sculptor and Greedy.

For Trader Smurf during the events of "For The Smurf Of Money", Sculptor engraved a mold for the first Smurf coin. He also created figures for a Nativity scene for Tapper using Tapper's descriptions.

Clothing[]

Sculptor generally wears a gray or dark blue work smock over his Smurf clothes.

Notes[]

  • The original version of Sculptor Smurf appears mostly in the Smurf comic books, as his role in the cartoon show and Sony Pictures' live-action film series is taken over by Painter Smurf.
