In "The Raven Wizard," Peewit is seen casting some sort of "ice spell" in a bowl, which turns out as an initial mistake. After tasting the concoction, he reconsiders it as an accidental success, in which he creates "ice of cream" (but he decides "ice cream" is a better name).
In "The Smurf Walk Café," Handy and Greedy accidentally make ice cream (which they call "smurf cream") when Greedy's bowl of smurfberries and cream ends up in Handy's air-conditioner machine. When disputing over who truly created the new treat, they discover that without each other, "smurf cream" is not true "smurf cream."
Empath: The Luckiest Smurf stories[]
As in the cartoon show, ice cream in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series was an accidental creation of Handy and Greedy through an invention Handy was working on, and is usually referred to as "smurf cream". At the present point in the story series, Gelato Smurf is in charge of creating this dessert with the invention called the smurf cream maker and of running the Smurfwalk Cafe.
