The Smurfus Receptus is the name of the Greek New Testament that has been transcribed by Tapper Smurf from the translation of the Holy Bible he received straight from God Himself in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. Admittedly, very few Smurfs among Tapper's generation could actually read Greek. Poet, who eventually learned how to read Greek, used the Smurfus Receptus as well as the transcribed Hebrew Old Testament text to create what would be known as the King Smurf Version. Tapper simply referred to it as the Greek New Testament, but Poet coined the term Smurfus Receptus from his study of Latin.
The name is based on that of the Textus Receptus, the Greek New Testament that was used for the creation of the King James Version.
