|Name Translation of Tailor Smurf|
"I may not be a smurfer of fashion, but I'm good at smurfing clothes that will last."
Taylor Lane "Tailor" Smurf is a Smurf character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.
Tailor is born the brother of Cobbler Smurf, the village shoemaker.
"Smurf clothes are white, traditional, and very distinguished, and that's that!"
- - Spoken to Vanity after throwing him out of his shop in "Hats Off To Smurfs"
He is generally very friendly, but rather temperamental concerning his work. He tends to be a traditionalist who takes offense at the idea that a Smurf his age or younger should wear something other than normal white clothes, although at times, depending on which Smurf is asking him, he will make exceptions. The Smurflings in particular deride him for his lack of fashion sense, which is why they prefer making their own clothes rather than wearing the same old white clothes as most other adult Smurfs.
For Empath's 150th birthday, Tailor made a special suit for him that would become that Smurf's standard choice of clothing from that point on. According to Tailor, he just couldn't see Empath in anything that was ordinary or traditional. Empath's new style of clothes, however, would become the catalyst for other Smurfs demanding personalized clothes of their own, such as Farmer, Miller, and Handy, and so against his own judgment Tailor conceded to their desires.
The only other Smurf in the village he seems to compete against is Showoff, whose taste in clothing is more bizarre, although his fashions are rarely used for anything except costume parties.
He is the village clothes maker who makes sure his fellow Smurfs are always wearing the best made clothes.
Tailor usually appears with either a tape measure draped around his neck or some pins in his Smurf hat. Sometimes he would even wear a pin cushion band on his shoulder.
His desired voice actor would be Nathan Lane, who is known for his work as Snowbell in the film Stuart Little and Timon from The Lion King film.
