Village Smurphony
Smurf Parade

The Village Smurphony Orchestra is the unofficial name given to the orchestra formed by the Smurfs in the cartoon episode "Smurphony In 'C'."

Mainstream Smurfs Media

The orchestra is usually conducted by Papa Smurf, though Brainy sometimes takes the conductor's stand. During the episode in question, Harmony tried to join in with the other Smurfs playing in the orchestra, but was ejected from it when he played all the instruments off-key.

Eventually, after Harmony saved them from Gargamel when he accidentally used the shazalla-kazoo on them, the other Smurfs allowed him to finally join the orchestra, as long as its other members wore earplugs to keep them from hearing Harmony's horn-playing.

In another episode, "Harmony Steals The Show," Papa Smurf brings the orchestra with him to contest Ghostwriter's claim of writing an original symphony for Harmony, playing out the entire symphony before the judge and revealing it to be an infringement of other people's works.

Empath: The Luckiest Smurf stories

At the point where the Empath: The Luckiest Smurf story "Smurphony Of The Night" takes place, the popularity of the Smurflings' style of music with their popular tune "Smurfbop" has inspired the creation of so many different Smurf bands that there were few Smurfs left to participate in the orchestra with Brainy conducting it. Even Papa Smurf upstaged the orchestra when he performed a tune of his own making with the Smurflings as his backing band on the last night of the Smurfstock Festival.

Hero: The Guardian Smurf stories

In the HERO: The Guardian Smurf story series, it is also called the Smurf Village Orchestra, and was used for the creation of Wonder Smurfette's first album.
