Vinetier is a Smurf character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. He is the husband of Marjorlaine Smurfette and the father of Vino and Scribbler Smurf, who like Vino is the village wine maker who makes all sorts of juices and wines for his fellow Smurfs. However, Scribbler had no interest in following after his father's profession, preferring to be an artist like Picasso Smurf and his son Painter. Vinetier constantly speaks in Schtroumpf, which his son Scribbler has picked up on.
About 50 years later, he along with his wife succumbed to the same unknown disease that claimed the lives of all their fellow Smurfs except for Papa Smurf. Vino and Scribbler were then left in the care of Papa Smurf along with 96 other young Smurfs his age.
Years later, during the events in the story "Days Of Auld Lang Smurf", Vinetier supposedly came back from the dead to meet his grown-up sons. However, Smurfette, Polaris Psyche, and the Smurflings discover and reveal the truth that the "resurrected" Vinetier was just an illusion created by the Auld Lang Syne Spell that the evil witch, Chlorhydris, had cast upon the Smurfs.
